Course Description

The four-day Directory Services Client/Server course is designed for system administrators and IT professionals who need to gain specific knowledge about directory services, how to  effectively configure Mac OS X computers to access directory services, and how to configure Mac OS X Server to provide directory services in a mixed-platform environment. This course is a combination of lecture and hands-on case study exercises that provide practical real-world experience.

This class is for system administrators who are tasked with configuring computers running Mac OS X to access directory services and providing directory services in a multiplatform environment.

Prerequisites

Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending this course:

  • Completion of Mac OS X Support Essentials v10.4 and Mac OS X Server Essentials v10.4, or equivalent knowledge
  • Understanding of basic IP networking, including IP adress, subnet masks, ports, and protocols
  • Working familiarity with the command line interface

The Directory Services Integration and Administration v10.4 Exam (9L0-611) addresses objectives for both Mac OS X Client and Mac OS X Server.  Successful completion of this exam earns Directory Services Integration and Administration certification and also earns 4 credits toward Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA) certification.
