Course Description

This one-day hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Keynote 3.0. In this course, you learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic document creation, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, using various templates, creating your own template, exporting and integrating with iLife '08. (Apple Training Series Curriculum)

Who should attend?
 
This class is designed for anyone looking to create presentations with Keynote. Understanding of the Macintosh operating system and basic computer navigation is desired. The course is designed for those who prefer hands-on and interactive instruction to best explore the full functionality of Pages 2.

Day 1

Chapter 1
Creating a Basic Presentation

 

Learn the basic functions of Keynote by working toward a basic objective of making a basic presentation. Choose a template, choose from master slides, replace placeholder graphics. Customize slide layout, add tables, fix spelling errors.

Chapter 2
Adding Media to Your Presentation
Access your media files and work with photos, video. Learn how to keep your media files with your presentation file so it can be copied to another machine for presentation.

Chapter 3
Animating and Viewing Your Presentation
Create builds that reveal text, tables or graphics. Configure preferences for playback. Learn basic controls for use during presentation.

Chapter 4
Converting a PowerPoint Presentation
Import and cleanup a PowerPoint presentation. Enhance existing elements such as tables and text. Refine builds. Animate a pie chart. Change the style of a slide. Rehearse the presentation

Chapter 5
Working with Themes, Graphics and Hyperlinks

Create a custom theme - create a background and custom text. Use a photo cutout. Save and share your theme. Learn to apply a custom theme. Embed a web page, quicktime movies. Work with hyperlinks and navigation.

Chapter 6
Publishing and Giving Your Presentation

Adding and printing Speaker Notes, Printing Handouts, Exporting to QuickTime, PowerPoint, PDF, Flash, HTML or to iDVD. Create a podcast with Garageband
